Standard structured packings have sharp edge-lines along the crest-tops and trough-bottoms of the crimps. We have developed a SUPER packing by smoothening out ( rounding off) the sharp lines during fabrication. This helps in more uniform "spreads" of the contacting liquid and vapour phases which in turn gives still better performance efficiency compared to standard structured packings.

Large contact area between the rising vapor and the downcoming liquid is provided by our packings, facilitating easy separation/purification of low boiling component/s at the top and high boiling ones at the bottom as desired products.

Our Grid Packing is an excellent choice for any application which has problems of fouling, erosion, high solid content etc. These can be easily removed, cleaned and replaced.

Fenix designs and manufactures efficient and low-cost Mist Eliminators.

Our Mist Eliminators, made of pack of porous blankets of metallic wire or plastic mesh, can be used whenever there is a need to remove liquid droplets entrained in a vapor flow. Due to very high fraction of void space in the mesh, the pressure drop is almost negligible.

Mist eliminators prevent loss of valuable products and help produce high quality condensate for applications such as vacuum distillation including refinery operations, evaporators, refinery lube towers, absorbers, steam drums, scrubbers etc. These are also used for any mass-transfer countercurrent operation where foaming/frothing occurs in order to prevent liquid entrainment in the product.

Variables that affect the design of a mist eliminator include vapour velocity, liquid entrainment loading, particle size distribution, gas and liquid viscosity and surface tension, operating temperatures, pressure and material of construction.

For the purpose of preliminary selection, empirical equations are used for the estimation of design gas velocity, pressure drop and separation efficiency.
