High Shear Mixers of Fenix are based on the concept of mixing head for intense shear of ingredients. This mixer has a separate chamber at the bottom through which the mixing ingredients are drawn in. The high speed rotating head pushes the ingredients through specially designed perforated head at a very high velocity. This helps the fluid to break into small particles which flows through the peripheral cavity to the top. The fluid is kept in suspension in the chamber by rotating blades and flows out through the top nozzles.

The entire liquid contact parts of the mixer are constructed in stainless steel 316. The mixer is provided with a mechanical seal for shaft sealing and a drive motor. The speed of the motor can be manipulated by a variable frequency drive.

    Fenix Pusher Centrifuge is the ideal equipment for separation of solid and liquid from a slurry. It has a special design that minimizes moisture (or solvent) and breakage of crystals in the product. It has an axially mounted cylindrical basket and a filtering screen made of trapezoidal bars. The slurry is fed into the narrower end of the basket and a reciprocating piston pushes the cake formed on the screen forward but the stroke of the piston stops just short of the wider end of the basket. This enables a thick layer of cake to remain at the discharge end which serves as a rim to prevent short-circuiting of the feed slurry. Therefore, discharged wet cake has minimal liquid content.

    Following are the steps in the operation ofPusher Centrifuge: Solids collect on the screen and feedliquors drain through; The pusher plate rotates with the basket and reciprocates; On the forward stroke, the plate pushes solids along the screen, consolidating the solids into a uniform cake; On the reverse stroke, fresh screen is exposed and more slurry is deposited; Cake dries as it moves along the length of the screen and washliquor may be applied to remove impurities; Cake is pushed off the discharge end of the screen and directed to the collection chute for downstream processing.
